i hear ya uni, loud and clear. this game doesn't suffer from anything above and beyond. i've actually enjoyed it more than any other FPS in memory. It actually added new gameplay features, but kept it within the battlefield universe, with the battlefield feel. so many games have failed at that, remember frontlines? quakewars? they tried new things, and while they weren't complete failures, i couldn't imagine putting in over 300 hours into them within 3 months of launch.
also, from switching around and playing other games, the guns feel fucking nice in BC2, really they're mostly copied from BC1, but yeah, just pulling the gun to your face FEELS good. like you can still see your surroundings, but you have a nice clear view through your ironsights or scope of choice. bursting and putting rounds downrange feels good, seeing your tracers dance around the enemy feels good. you can zoom in and actually hit a guy running across the field 100 yards away with relative ease. back in BF2 or 2142, i'm pretty sure that your overall draw distance ended at about the same range that all classes can kill at in BC2. these are big improvements.
only thing i'm concerned about now is this patch coming out the day before our match, could be good or bad, we'll just have to figure out what weapons kill good again. and it's not like we can push the date of the match back any further, as we've already postponed once, and starting on the 30th of june (the next day) there's a week holiday period where no one has to play any matches if they don't wanna without penalty.
