yeah, i downloaded this played for about 10 hours or so until i got bored, it was a pretty fun 10 hours though. yeah it's open world, and the world is fucking gorgeous, you spend most of the time just panning the camera around gasping at the scenery, feels like you've teleported into a national geographic article by way of google earth. the gameplay is decent, but not enough to keep your interest past the 10 hour mark. the missions are very much the same, infact the stronghold missions for each faction are IDENTIAL just across different terrain. the voice acting and "plot" are laughable. and that's their strong point, it's super ridiculous over-the-top cheese that actually really works. what the game suffers from which you will find out are: poorly handing cars, not enough ammo, not enough money to buy vehicles, and the world is simply TOO damn big. if you were to run across one edge of the world, it would probably take you 8 hours. you NEED to use transportation, the best of which is a small 1 man jet which you can spawn for $30,000 from your black market weapon dealer with a chopper. until you spawn it and didn't realize that you'll need a makeshift runway or sorts to get it into the air, oops, $30,000 down the drain. do that 3 more times and you've just spent all the $ you'll get in the first several hours of gameplay. i think that playing this game with a trainer ie. cheats for ammo and money would be ten times more satisfying. it is pretty fun though with the grappling hook, like if you spawn a jet, and run it into a tree, but it's still ok, you can spawn a humvee right next to it, grapple the two together, and pull your jet out of the woods. just these little things are pretty rewarding when you realise that you ain't got shit to help you and you're 1,000 miles from anything up in the mountains, and if you fuck it up, it's a long trek home. getting lost is fun. |
