So these guys are using a new type of motion capture technology that "draws a line in the sand" as far as realistic visuals and animations go. never before been used in a game.

It's 32 cameras that take light, geometry, and colour information. no more spandex suits, instead actors are fully costumed and interacting with other actors, objects etc.

Take a look at the little teaser trailer, and look at the animations in particular, they look real nice, with some more polish they're almost enough to make you forget that it's a game and not a movie. (if they stuck with realistic camera shots/angles etc)

tag that with a script weighing in at 22,000 pages at the moment, and you've got yourself a title to watch out for.

Rockstar kicks ass, so whenever this game comes out, should be pretty awesome.

being developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar. don't know shit about Team Bondi, but anything that Rockstar has their hands in turns to gold. last i checked Red Dead Redemption has already moved 1.5 million copies.

so apparently one of the technologies of awsomeness that Team Bondi have aquired to make this game is Lightsprint

which utilizes real-time global illumination, which was highlighted in a cool benchmark that's a bit old, but no game used it as the hardware wasn't where it needed to be, until now? download this and try it out, it's super lite and pretty nifty

maybe after this game makes some money they can afford to make larger resolution trailers.

Wow, the characters are so well done I can tell that the actor that the main guy is played by is Ken Cosgrove from Madmen.

for those who don't have access to a console, this is what you're missing. don't hold your breath for it to come out on PC, we're still waiting for last year's Red Dead Redemption, and it's doubtful that it will ever be released for PC as it stands, same with this title.

yeah, especially the eyes, it seems to be really hard to get the glint and different reflections done right. but the way the muscles move looks brilliant. and yes, at the same time, super creepy.
