i already have the mouse sitting in the cart on their website.

you didn't answer whether there is a mouse button on the right side. from what i can tell, it has a bunch of buttons on the left side but not the right.

if there isn't a mouse button on the right side, then its a no go.

i don't know of any mice that have buttons on the right side anymore, not any gaming mice at least, not in the last 10 years. your thumb has better control to steady the mouse and press buttons, your ring and/or pinky finger is best suited to just hold the mouse as steady as possible. the thumb just has bigger muscles and results in better overall control. at least that's what the mouse manufacturers have discovered. and i'd tend to agree with them.

i think the logitech lx8 has a right button. also the G300 has buttons ontop on the left and right. but i've never seen a gaming-grade mouse with buttons on the right side.

happy hunting

the G9x is only $66.99 on their website? and you could get %50 off that?

damn, i'd be hard pressed to find a better mouse, or a better deal, just about anywhere.

infact anyone who needs a new mouse i'd grab it, i paid $109 for mine, and it was one of the best investments i've ever made. any other mouse i use just feels inferior in one way or another.

also i just got this the other day

http://steelseries.com/us/products/...n=giveaway

i've honestly never used a mouse pad since my dad's old pentium *with MMX computer, we still have a trackball. once we got a lazer mouse i just used it on any surface and didn't care. usually on a wooden desk.

i got a proper hybrid cloth/synthetic mousepad for $10 a few months ago, and i was pretty astounded at the difference, especially with a brand new mouse where the special tetrofluroethlyhydrene or whatever mouse "feet" aren't all scratched up and fucked up yet.

2 weeks ago when i got my new headset, i went with mongo's wisdom and decided to get a "gaming" mousepad, and whoaaaaa nelly, it's so unbelivably slick i can't even describe. mouse feels like a banana peel, ontop of hot oil, ontop of an ice rink, in space. or something to that effect.

with my G9 i've FINALLY gotten to break out the customized weights, cause you need them to give the thing a custom grip. in the past i'd just keep the extra weight tray out of the mouse, to make it lighter and more responsive. i never really saw the reason to have weights in a mouse at all, i thought it was only for noobs who thought it was all 1337 to have customizable weights to... what? make your mouse heavier? more unresponsive? ha! until you're riding at almost zero friction, there's no need. but now it's just ridiculous what my mouse twitch is now. the problem is that i've just gotta get used to the huge new boost to my speed, and customize my DPI settings accordingly, waiting for the BF3 beta to do the fine tuning, but once it's set, whoooo buddy! i feel like a 14 year old korean girl playing starcraft.

Don't listen to Error.

I've also been looking at getting a gaming mouse pad surface myself.
I use a mousepad with wrist rest I got from my grils work and its ok, but the surface area is too small and it's not a gaming surface so I'm not getting that ice on space glide that you describe.

This is the one I want to get because it has a wrist rest but it's so expensive.

i try not to erikson, this is what i get for trying to help lol. also for the record, whenever i have more than a small sound-bite sized thing to say, i find if i divide the posts up people might actually read them. doesn't matter that i took the time to write things down, i've found that when some people see more than 10 words in a post their brain goes: "AHH WALL OF TEXT" and they just skip it. i hate catering to the lowest common denominator, but sometimes i think that it's warranted. everyone deserves to read the inane ramblings of crazy ol uncle slick. i'm so good, i'm like Shatner, every......word......is.......its......own.......sentence

ANYWAYS!

erikson, don't get that one. i was at the store looking at a similar pad from a different company that was "dual-sided". the guy in the store told me not to get it. the problem with dual sided ones is that by design they have to have 4 obtrusive sticky gel pads on all 4 corners of the mousepad, so you can flip it on either side and have it stay in place. your mouse will hit these, and it will suck. unless your mouse is always in the middle of the pad. if you have to track an enemy without lifting the mouse, and reach any of the corner edges, the mouse will get stuck on the pad. bad business.

if you need a wrist rest, just get one of those separately, i'd buy just the best mousepad on it's own. ask mongo for his opinion, he knows more about them than i do. he got aluminum ones though, and he said the razor was crap, the ironclad i believe, said the surface came off in a few months. so i in turn made sure mine was a hard plastic pad. first time i've tried one of these, and i'm very satisfied. i'm sure most any of them you'll see a huge improvement, just be weary of the double-sided thing, sounds cool in theory though, i almost bought one of those myself.

lol, i just ordered it 2mins ago.

I've read/watched a few reviews and all looks good. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm sparing no expense for this current gaming rig for BF3.

FUCK, why isn't the beta out yet!?!?

ech, i'm sure it's fine, the more i think about it, normally in an FPS or most games, you're mainly moving along one of the 2 axis exclusively, either left/right or up down.

it's not as probable that you'll be tracking a target for a long distance diagonally. so you shouldn't be hitting the rubber thingies. how big is that thing? the one i was looking at was pretty small, that might have been why the sales guy advised me against it.

btw, i found oot that we get in the BF3 beta 2 days earlier than the public beta launch, cause we're MoH prostars. hmmm, kinda makes me wanna reinstall that game it wasn't that bad, it was just the same as everything else out there. but it did have frostbite, and people did die about as fast as in the bf3 alpha... hmmmmmmm...

also don't fret fellow clannies, if you pre-order from origin, then you get the same priviledges we do, a 48 hour headstart.

thinking of getting mine from bestbuy for the specact skins, seems like the only pre-order promo that could potentially give you a tactical advantage...

rather than posting 3 times in a row, you can simply press the "edit" button, and then separate your thoughts into paragraphs. people will either read it or wont.

especially considering some people get emails every time a post is made on the forums, it not only stops forum spam, but email spam.

but don't listen to me. i'm just an asshole since you disagree with me on the matter. makes perfect sense.

spam away.
